I am not just a marine surveyor, I am also a certified marine mechanic. I offer marine gasoline outboard and inboard engine service and repair.  I can come to your vessel's location or you can bring your boat or engine to my shop located in Jupiter, Florida. I am factory trained in Yamaha, Mercury / MerCruiser, Evinrude, and Honda marine engines.

I use the lastest in diagnostic software, diagnostic tools, infrared thermal imaging, and up to date training techniques in service, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of marine engines. I only use genuine factory parts on the marine engines that I service and repair. I conduct my service and repair services with integrity keeping you updated with the status of the service or repair and will never unnecessarily charge or conduct any service or repair that is not needed. Because of the ethics that I adhere to with the Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors, I can not perform engine service or repair work on the same vessel that I perform any survey on under the same owner or buyer.


Below are some of the diagnosing procedures, findings, and repairs from previous engine work that I have performed in the past:  

Conducting a "sync and link" on a Yamaha F150 outboard engine

Conducting a hydraulic steering service using a SeaStar Power Purge tool 

Using special software to verify a faulty digital fuel guage on the NEMA 2000 network that was not reading fuel

Leakdown testing on a  Yamaha outboard engine

Installing a Yamaha DEC dual control unit at the helm of a center console boat

Using plastigage to verify the bearing clearance of a plane bearing in the crankshaft of a Yamaha outboard engine

Using jump wires to verify a faulty wire harness for a power trim and tilt unit on a Evinrude outboard engine

Pressure testing the lower unit seals in an outboard engine

Disassembly of a MerCruiser inboard engine to verify saltwater intrusion in the cylinders

Disassembly of a Mercury V8 outboard engine that verified seawater intrusion into the air intake and lower cylinder valves

Borescope photo of the exhaust manifold of a Yamaha 4.2 liter outboard engine showing cracks and corrosion that caused power loss

A long overdue replacement of a remote fuel / water seperator filter that was corroding to the mount in the aft lazarette

Fuel injectors taken from a Mercury four stroke outboard engine that were partially clogged causing the engine to surge when running

Corroded fuel injectors removed from an Evinrude Etec outboard engine

Removing the carrier bearing assembly to replace the worn shaft seal and to inspect the internal components
